My main role is to foster growth for Cisco as a whole by acquiring and investing in innovators who are not afraid to disrupt the status quo and redefine their industries.
What I’m Passionate About
I’m passionate about working with startup founders who exude my favorite three “I’s” – Intellect, Intensity, and Integrity.
My heart is in raising my two sons and cheering on the Bay Area sports teams I grew up with: San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors, and the Cal Bears.
It sounds cliché, but I love what I do for a living. Every day, I get to work with some of the most passionate people in the world who are driving positive change through technology, innovation, and digitization.
My love for strategy and deal-making is likely highly correlated with my lifelong hobby of collecting sports cards which started when I was a kid. I learned back then that deeply understanding the stats on the back of a baseball card and taking emotion out of the trade gave me an advantage.
I understand clearly how important it is to make decisions based on high-quality data. Being data-driven, with a bit of instinct, is how I make decisions today as a leader.
Where I’ve Been
Before my current role with Corporate Development and Cisco Investments, I spent many years in investment banking, venture capital, strategic planning and corporate and business development.
Where I Learned
I earned a BS from UC Berkeley School of Business and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
